A group of Sheridan Faculty of Business students were on hand to help celebrate Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion’s 90th birthday at the recent gala event. More than a 1000 guests including local, provincial and federal dignitaries joined Mayor McCallion at the $350 per plate black-tie event held at the Mississauga Conference Centre.
Mayor McCallion requested that the proceeds of the event go to assist funding Sheridan College’s new Mississauga City Centre campus – now gratefully named The Hazel McCallion Campus. The new campus will be home to Sheridan’s Faculty of Business and will eventually accommodate nearly 5000 students in undergraduate, graduate certificate and degree business programs.
Sheridan students were invited to attend Mayor McCallion’s birthday event courtesy of the generosity of Randy Pilon, President & CEO of Virox Technologies Inc. Mr. Pilon is a generous benefactor, a graduate of the Sheridan Faculty of Business, and a member of the Sheridan Faculty of Business Hall of Fame, and the creator and sponsor of the annual Virox Future Forum which brings top business students together with influential business speakers.
