Sheridan College Convocation 2012 brings faculty, students, family, friends to celebrate achievement

Sheridan Faculty of Business Convocation 2012 at Mississauga Living Arts Centre

Sheridan College Convocation 2012 was an opportunity for Faculty of Business members, students, family and friends to mix and mingle in the shared warmth of a truly heart-warming day.

More than 750 Faculty of Business students graduated their programs recently to the heart-warming applause of proud families and friends. The two Convocation ceremonies needed to accommodate the large number of Faculty of Business graduates were held adjacent to The Hazel McCallion Campus at The Mississauga City Centre Living Arts Centre

The annual Sheridan College Convocation recently took place all week at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre as graduates numbering several thousand students from more than a hundred programs located in the seven academic Faculties of the College took to the stage to receive their diploma from Sheridan President Dr. Jeff Zabudsky.   Each years’ graduates go on to join the now more than 130,000 alumni from Sheridan College since 1967.

Faculty of Business members Stuart Munro, Henry Katz, and Sue Ronchka retire from Sheridan College

Henry Katz, Stuart Munro, and Sue Ronchka cut the cake marking their retirement from The Sheridan Faculty of Business

Sheridan Faculty of Business gathered to bid happy retirement to Associate Dean, Stuart Munro, Financial Planning Program Coordinator Henry Katz and faculty coach and mentor Professor Sue Ronchka – their retirement captures nearly one hundred years of service to Sheridan College.

Dean, Bill Holmes presented Munro, Katz and Ronchka with a suitable memento celebrating their contribution to the Faculty of Business while members of the Faculty of Business congratulated the three on their retirement.

Stuart Munro intends to enjoy his retirement with more shipboard cruises, Henry Katz, will continue with his Financial Planning clients and Sue Ronchka intends to return to mentor and coach new faculty.

Congratulations and happy retirement Stuart Munro, Henry Katz and Sue Ronchka from the members of The Sheridan Faculty of Business.

Faculty of Business Alumni Event brings grads and Hall of Famers together at HMC

Randy Pilon, Ian Oliver, Lisa Piccolo, William Holmes and Jeff Zabudsky prepare to welcome Sheridan Business alumni at the recent event at HMC.

Sheridan Alumni and the Faculty of Business played host to nearly 100 alumni and faculty guests at Sheridan’s new Hazel McCallion Campus recently to show-off the new campus to Business alumni located at City Centre in Mississauga.  The Sheridan Business Alumni Event featured presentations by Sheridan alumni Ian Oliver, President of Metroland Media Group and Randy Pilon President and CEO of Virox Technolgies Inc. who discussed their respective career paths from Sheridan Business graduate to their position today.

Both Pilon and Oliver spoke about making the best of opportunities after graduation,their successes, their failures and their re-engagement and stressed the need for graduates to be adaptable.

Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion Campus (HMC) is a state-of-the-art facility designed to increase collaborative learning and inspire creativity. To celebrate Sheridan’s expansion into Mississauga,Sheridan Alumni hosted a panel discussion from

local business leaders Randy Pilon (Business 1982), President & CEO of Virox Technologies Inc. and a member of Sheridan Board of Governors, and Ian Oliver (Advertising 1983), President & CEO of Metroland Media Group.

Jeff Zabudsky, Sheridan President & CEO, invited the guests to tour the new Hazel McCallion Campus in the heart of Mississauga and spend an evening with William Holmes, the new Dean of Sheridan’s Faculty of Business.
