Sheridan School of Business welcomes five new faculty for the 2008/2009 academic year.
Nancy Dewar is Professor of Sales Management and will lead Sheridan’s new Graduate Certificate program in Sales Management.
Iryna Molodecky is Professor of Advertising and will provide academic leadership to Sheridan’s newly expanded Advanced College Diploma program in Advertising.
Leasa Steadman is Professor of Office Administration and will provide academic leadership to the programs in the Office Administration cluster.
Eva Turczyniak is Professor of Office Administration and will provide academic leadership to the programs in the Office Administration cluster.
Marcie Theoret is Professor of Marketing and will provide academic leadership to Sheridan’s award-winning Marketing programs.
Nancy Dewar comes to the Sheridan School of Business with more than 17 years experience in sales and account management. Most recently, Dewar was National Retail Sales Manager for Schick Canada, where she managed 37 sales representatives and four regional managers. Her prior experience also includes National Account Manager for Nestle Canada where she also developed Nestle University, and Costco Canada as National Merchandising Manager.
Dewar has a M.Ed from Brock University and a B.A from the University of Western Ontario, and a diploma in Advertising from Mohawk College in Hamilton.
Iryna Molodecky is an award winning art director and creative director with more than 25 years experience in the advertising industry. Molodecky’s experiences included Creative Art Director for Promo-tivate where clients included Air Canada Vacations, Safeway Canada, Sharp Electronics, Callaway Golf, Hoover and Home Hardware. Molodecky is no stranger to Sheridan’s Advertising’s classrooms as she has been a contract professor where she proved herself a great communicator, who is deeply committed to teaching with passion and integrity.
Molodecky has an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University and has also complete courses Media and New Technology Management from the University of Toronto. Molodeck is also multi-lingual and is fluent in English, French, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian.
Leasa Steadman brings more than 20 years business experience in office administration to her appointment in Sheridan’s Office Administration programs. For the past several years Leasa provided executive administrative services to Sheridan’s vice-president, academic and support to many academic committees and processes at the college. Steadman’s business experience spans healthcare, electronics, insurance, the public sector, social services and education.
Steadman holds a B.A in English from Wilfred Laurier University and was enrolled in the MBA program at York University – a pursuit that she put on hold when she relocated to the west coast.
Eva Turczyniak has already taught for four years in a wide range of courses in Sheridan’s Office Administration programs and also brings with her nine years of experience in the legal administration field. Most recently Turczyniak was employed as a law clerk and legal assistant at Shekter, Dychtenburg in Toronto and previously at Waterous, Holden, Amey, Hirchon LLP in Brantford. Turczyniak is skilled in personal injury cases, medical claims, mediations and discoveries, civil litigation and matrimonial law, real estate, as well as employment and insurance matters.
Turczyniak has a B.A in Sociology from McMaster University, is a graduate of Sheridan’s Office Administration program, was the recipient of the Halton Law Association Award for academic excellence in the first year in her program, the recipient of the Fogler, Rubinoff LLP Award for academic excellence in her final year, and graduated from Sheridan’s Office Administration program a Sheridan Scholar, and the recipient of the Silver Medal for academic excellence in the Legal Option of the Office Administration program.
Marcie Theoret is a top performer in the marketing industry with fifteen years of extensive experience and was most recently a contract professor for the Sheridan School of Business and a software trainer residing in the Human Resources department. Theoret most recently worked as a sales and marketing consultant for RBSS Canada, a sales acceleration services provider, focussed on helping technology companies grow market share primarily in the Canadian marketplace. Theoret was also Business Development Manager, Oritek where she was responsible for marketing Oracle Software across North America. Her portfolio also includes several technology based firms where she provided marketing and sales leadership.
Theoret holds an MBA from Aspen University, and an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics in Business Administration – Information Systems from the University of Waterloo.
